I’m loving cashews this season so I made this cashew milk recipe this morning and you have to try it!
If you're new to the healthy life.. just know it adds up 💰
I wish I could total the amount of money I spent on plant based milk over the years..imagine if I'd invested that in some stocks or crypto 🤣
Luckily all you need is a few ingredients and you can DIY with this simple cashew nut milk recipe
No more running to the grocery store & you can use it for the base of a seasonal latte & more!
One of my dreams is to be able to be self sustainable “ONE DAY”.. so I guess one DIY at a time until then!
DIY CASHEW MILK 🥛
Ingredients:
4 cups non salted cashews
4 cups of water
1-2 T raw honey or agave
1 T vanilla extract (optional)
Sprinkle of ground cinnamon
Pinch of Himalayan salt
This is so simple a 4 year old can do it!
1. Soak your cashews overnight ( if you're in a rush for some milk 3-4 hours will do)
This step is important. Rinse thoroughly until the water is clear.
2. Start blending with half the amount of water if your blender isn't the strongest. Once you get it smoother add the rest.
3. This is the fun part because you can add what you'd like and its nice to know what's going in your body. I went for raw honey, cinnamon, and a little vanilla.
Flu Season Hack: Add Himalayan pink salt for a boost in electrolytes. This a great addition because it will balance your body's natural PH. Sometimes we get a little afraid of salt, but your body needs it.
(If you struggle with Hypertension or Kidney Disease -- consult your doctor before increasing your salt intake)

4. Once you're happy with the consistency, strain out any lumps and clumps & voila homemade cashew nut milk.
Did I mention if you don't get enough magnesium in your diet, cashews are an excellent source of magnesium!
This recipe makes a quart of cashew milk, it will last about 3-4 days sealed tightly in he refrigerator!
Have fun with this recipe and make it your own! This taste so yummy steamed and frothed as well as a cold seasonal beverage with some pumpkin and nutmeg spices on top!
